Shelton Bio
Shelton is a pop/rock ensemble hailing from Birmingham, Alabama; an unlikely city for starving musicians of their genre. Since their incarnation in the early months of 2003, they have earned a big name for themselves as pop-smart songwriters with skills beyond the average, less-than-memorable radio hooks that have seemed to turn into modern trends. "What we want people to know is that our inspirations and influences tend to lean toward the roots of rock and roll, and not the everyday bands that waste record labels time and money on one-hit LP's," stated lead guitarist, Shane Jewell. In fact, since their inception during the Summer of 2003; radio stations, managers, club owners, and music fans have begun to catch the buzz that's being made. Their debut EP Whatever Gets You Down was recorded, mixed, and produced by the band in Jewell's Protools-based recording studio in the small, suburban town of Clay, AL.
